Very short issue this month. I'm very busy with my web design business (High Aspirations, Inc.) and life in general.

Can you see my site? On 10/21/05, I emailed all my subscribers and asked if they had trouble loading my site because I was dealing with some DNS issues and they were driving me bonkers. I've still got problems here but it seems that no one else does. I guess that's a good thing but if it was other people then I'd have something to stand on when I complain to my host or ISP. As it stands, sometimes my site loads for me, sometimes it doesn't. Weird, but I'll either learn to live with it or move my site eventually ... again. Sigh! Thanks to all of you who took the time to check my site.

Marine News Returns: Thanks to subscriber Brad Birch, I have found two new places (Reef Relief and Reef Protection International) to gather marine related news. Therefore, the Marine News Section returns this month with actual news. I hope to continue to be able to bring you news articles relating to our hobby.

Tank Showcase Updated: Cedric C. Kirkman, whose 10 Gallon Reef Tank was the showcase in July 2005, has sent me some new pictures of his tank. Visit http://www.marinefiends.com/submittank.html (url dead 03/09/08) to check them out.

Feeding Tip #3
By Stan & Debbie Hauter
Edited By Elizabeth M. Lukan, 11/30/05

For fish that are coral pickers, stick or press food down into the cracks or crevices of rocks. These fish are naturally looking for food in these areas. Do this by using larger food chunks, or make your own food mix.

For predatory fishes, live foods stimulate their natural feeding instincts. Provide these types of fishes with natural food sources as they would eat in nature.

When keeping marine animals that are stationary suspension or filter feeders, or where liquid supplements are needed for nourishment, good water circulation in the tank will assist with bringing these nutrients to the animals.

For stationary animals like anemones and other carnivorous eating inverts or corals, use a turkey baster, plastic long handled tongs, or some type of feeding tool to directly give the food to the animals.

Editing was limited to spelling and grammar corrections and putting into the Fish 'N' Chips format. The above is part of a larger article, How To Tips For Feeding Saltwater Livestock, which can be found at http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/fishphotosa_b/ht/feedswfish.htm.
